Endangered panthers should we kill them or not ?

We have been learning about endangered animals and to explain what they can do, where do they live and why are people killing them.

To be successful I will:

What do I want to explain?

Do you like black jaguars because I do but did you know that they are endangered species.

Terrifying, powerful and fast. These are some words to describe the black jaguar, Black Jaguars are one of the most powerful cats in the world.

Why are black jaguars an endangered species?

Humans are busting their habitats so they live in the wild with no food they mostly live in lowlands, tropical areas, near warm water and in heavily wooded savannas or forest. The panther will eat mammals. Such as birds, large reptiles and fish.  

   Habitat Loss

A habitat is an animal's natural home. There will be not that much food and they live around warm places like the savannas, in the forest and swamps. Humans bust their habitats down because they want to build houses and other stuff.  When this happens the black jaguar can’t hunt when there is no food or habitats so the black Jaguar will die.

Why are humans killing black jaguars

Because people prize them for their unique rosette-spotted coats so they can sell them. They also kill them because farmers want to protect their cattle.

How can we stop people from killing black jaguars

Well, my advice on how we should stop people from killing them is by taking them somewhere else so they don’t harm other people and that they can live in their own place well everybody else can do their jobs instead of going to run around to go shooting or stuff like that we can just live nice and peacefully.

In summary,black jaguars are endangered because of their habitat loss and their threats towards humans.

An lifecycle of a eel is amazing

I have been learning to summarize the text and finding out what the book is mostly about.
Pacific Paradise

Last week I read a really interesting book called Pacific Paradise and it was written by Mary campbell. This book is mostly about how an adult eels lay their eggs, These kind of eels are about 2 metres long and it weighs 21 kilograms. Isn’t that big because I bet no one has an eel that big and long. This eel is only found in New Zealand there’s only one eel that is in Australia and that is the shortfin eel. There are two main species of eel in New Zealand and one in Australia and they are the longfin eel and the shortfin eel. Did you know that the longfin eels like the fast- flowing and stony river beds, the shortfin eels like the swamps and slow- flowing coastal and lowland rivers.

My favourite part about this book is the life cycle about a eel going from eggs and growing into an adult, when they grow into adults they start to spawn meaning to release eggs

My Hilarious Birthday

This is my recount that I have been working on. I was learning to put more talking and putting adverbs into my story will be interesting for my readers.

My Birthday

On Wednesday My brothers, My parents and I were going to Whangarei because it was my birthday. I was so excited to go to Whangarei because I haven't really been there before. After driving for about half and hour we were almost in Kawakawa I like going to Kawakawa because they have 3 bridges and 2 of them are really fun because it feels like butterflies tickling your tummy when you go fast.

Gloomily I wished that we were rich so we can by a lot of stuff such as cars, clothes anything you want. After we were coming in towards the traffic where a lot of cars were.A few minutes later we were stuck in the traffic waiting for the red light to turn green. Impatiently I was like” Oh! come on already”. It was taking so long that I felt like I didn’t want to go anywhere.The red light finally switched to green light my brothers were relieved that the light finally changed. So we went to Rebel Sports first to see if we can find some new pare of shoes.

I wasn’t really interested of finding shoes so I went to Chace because it look like he found a game I didn’t know what it was so I asked him “what’s this game?” I think it’s soccer i’m sure,” CHace replied. Happily,  we grabbed a little ball that could fit just right and put it in the middle of the table. We couldn’t find a pare so we headed off to Kmart. “I always remembered the smell in there it smells like pizza which is my favourite”. Later on we were walking to The Warehouse I like this warehouse because it’s really big and it has more stuff inside.

When we were walking around I was getting sore legs I was slowing down I told mum”mum my legs are so sore”, she replied”go sit down somewhere” but I want to catch up with you”, I asked. So we went around while my brothers were looking at toys and stuff they even grabbed some water guns. We went for lunch I really like Burger King because they have the best burgers.

Who likes Burger Kings burgers?  Because I do and i’m sure you guys will too. Even though my mum and Hilton had KFC’s for their lunch. Finally we were driving back home mum said that when we get back where aloud to have playstation for the rest of the day. That day was the coolest because I like when we had Playstation at the end of the day. The End

Yucky Cockroach

SURVIVOR

Here is a book called Survivor and this book is written by Robin Nathan. This is mostly about a cockroach stealing food and learning about himself off a laddies computer. The laddie always gets the fly spray and tries to kill him. She always freaks out when she sees the cockroach running around.

What I found interesting in this book are puns. Puns are like jokes but a two different meanings. For example, the cockroach in the book said Yo Daddy, how’s it hanging, he said to the spider. Then that is just like a pun but it’s just different then another joke like those silly ones that people say.

My favourite part of this story is when the cockroach was eating pizza and the laddie looked at him eating and she yelled “aaaaaah” at him. And he looked at her and dropped the food and ran away.

The Ultimate Duffy Hero

Today Ray Bishop visited our school. I think that Ray was telling us what dream we should be when we grow up into adults, I want to know how to be a scientist and a Rugby player when I grow up. He told us about himself achieving his goals when he was 5 years old,  He said that when he was small he always wanted to be a singer right up to 30 years. It looks like he was trying his best and he worked really hard to be a singer.

                     Born of the year of the rabbit

I have read a book called Born Of The Year Of The Rabbit. This article is about a boy named Hua Yan and his life in China. This book was written by Peter Mirams.  

This book has a boy that lives with eight million people that is in a medium sized city which is in China. They even go to school at 8am and school finishes at 5pm.

In my opinion life in China is really difficult for them and how they are doing things. The way that they do stuff is really different than us.

Cool Karate!

I think we should have karate classes every Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays because it will keep us fit and we will be able to defend ourselves from bullies. Do you want to learn karate at your school?  Yes or no.

My first reason we should have karate classes is that you will keep fit.

For example if you go and exercise such as, running and boxing that is also keeping you fit and healthy like karate. In other words you can also play a sport which keeps your body moving just like karate but with karate it will be a life time memory. Added to this in karate classes you will do push ups that will make your muscles stronger.

The second reason we should have karate classes is so that you can defend

yourself from getting bullied. For example if someone was bullying you, You can

stand up for yourself so they will stop picking on you.  Added to this bullies are not aloud to

come near you if they do and they are going to hit you, You need to use your defence skills that you have been taught.

I summary, I think we should have karate classes every Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Because it will keep you safe from bullies and strangers and you will be fit for your old days when your 80.

My next steps are:

To plan my ideas well so my  main reasons have good supporting detail.

Learn and use emotive words and phrases to make my argument better

Use the correct structure and connective independently

Check that my sentences make sense.

The Best Day Playing Rugby.

Monday 20th June 2016
Playing Rugby

“I am learning to add figurative language and synonyms for said into my writing

On Saturday my uncle and I went to Ohawai to play rugby. We went against Keri Red. The first thing I did was go to my coach to get a t-shirt. My coach gave me a shirt and I put it on.

Next we went onto the field to do a little bit of training and exercises until the game started. We even did a game plan, but one of our players wasn’t listening. We didn’t care we kept on going.

 The game started. We were ready for the kick off, so they kicked it off to us. We caught the ball and we ran into them like a herd of bulls. One of us knocked a boy from the opposition’s team over and he cried hard out like his arm broke.

After that, we scored three tries and they scored five. Shortly after I heard one of the Keri Red players breathing hard it’s like they were angry I was like, “holy heck” I wondered why are they breathing hard. Then they ran really hard at us some of us were crying except for me and some other players.

A few minutes later they had scored 2 more tries we only scored 1 trie. Finally it was game over the score was 7 points to 4 so we went to our coach and I took my top off and put it in the coach's bag.

Later on we went into the room where they give their player of the day awards and have something to eat. The people in the kitchen were cooking the food for us they were preparing the food on the table.

Then the the food was placed on the table. Then it was time for the player of the day awards I wasn’t that excited because anyone can get it but soon I heard one of my players say,” It’s gonna be Tristan”, In a squeaky voice. My coach told me to go up to him and shake his hand. So I got my reward from him and then I took my reward to my uncle.  I felt as tall as a sky tower. I also had a feed but I only ate a little bit.

My favourite part of that day is when I got that reward because my dad told me if you get that reward then you get 1 hour on playstation. I will never forget that day.

Here is my book review about painting the town

Last week I read a book Painting The Town with my group, The author is Renata Hopkins. This book is a report.

This book is about artists painting on the shops or buildings. Christchurch has painters to paint wherever there is a broken building. They paint huge murals by using a projector to face it at the wall and then they trace around the picture.

This is what I learnt this week. I learnt that reports have subheadings, subheadings are above paragraphs explaining what it’s going to be about.

My favourite part about this book is when they are painting lots of paintings.

Bike Accident .Draft 2 what I need to work on. I need to work on is using a variety of interesting words and phrases in my story

At home I fell off my bike

On Sunday I was getting my bike because I was going to 6 laps from our house to our auntys house. Then my brother wanted to race me to the white house.

So we were getting ourselves ready to race we grabbed our helmets and we put them on our heads.

Next we were getting on our bikes. Then my brother came over to us. He was the one who said on your marks get set and go so my foot quickly leaped off the ground and went onto the pedals and I quickly spun my legs around. My legs were spinning as fast as a wheel on a car going down a hill. It was so freaky. I thought my legs will get chopped off by the chain spinning. I was so fast that I couldn't stop. I pressed the brakes down as hard as I could. And I just stopped before I went of the kerb.

/So I went for it but something really bad happened I was turning the corner  then I went to the next corner and guess what happened? the back wheel slid and it bumped the barn and the wheel came off so my dad had to fix it up for me so I can ride it again.

Later on I looked down. Blood was pouring out my knee like a red river. My mum and I hurried to the tap at my Nan’s house. Then I jogged back home to get a bandage it was really sore I felt like my leg was gonna fall off.

Finally I had some dinner it was delicious it was pork bone with potato and kumara. After that I went for a good night sleep. On that day I learn’t not to go to fast on my bike again.

Slam Dunk

Three days ago I read Slam Dunk. The story was about a boy named Patrick and the Coach Williams. The text is written by John Lockyer and the illustration was by Andrea Bianchi .

I liked the the part when he was with another boy named Karl Morrow. Even there was a tall man with big shoulders and thick eyebrows standing by the door. I liked when he was playing basketball with the new boy named Karl he was an amazing player he had good skills he was moving side to side he was dribbling the ball but then he stopped dribbling the ball Patrick was very nervous because he can lose the ball.
