Why do we throw rubbish in the landfill instead of recycling it ?

I was learning to group similar ideas into paragraphs and to check if my sentences make sense.

Tristan
Do you agree or disagree with all of this rubbish I mean there is so much around now, we need to do something about this. I believe that people need to stop throwing all of their rubbish in the landfill because that is outrageous !

For an example, say if you went to go throw your bags of rubbish in the landfill you could be making a bad choice because it can kill people by a chemical called methane. Methane is the bad gas that comes from the rubbish under ground.

Another reason why people need to stop this pollution because trees and plants will start to die and people will get sick because the gas that comes from the ground up into the air.

Added to this you can use plastic bottles or plastic containers to make clothing or other products which can be easily made but the only problem is it can burn faster if it is made from that material.

My question is why do people throw their rubbish in the landfill ? and did you know that there are 10 countries that produce rubbish ?

In summary, I think we should all disagree with all of this rubbish going to the landfill, there is so much around now, we need to do something.   Make sure you don’t throw all of your rubbish in the landfill.

The best fun I had in Waitangi

I learnt lot of things at the Treaty of Waitangi, there were so much facts to learn about. We went all around the treaty grounds and grabbed information from every were and when they signed the treaty.

WALT share what we learnt in a creative way.
To be successful I will:
  • Write about where we visited, things I learnt and what I enjoyed
  • Share it with my teacher to check my ideas make sense and have used correct spelling and punctuation
  • Choose from a variety a digital tools to communicate my ideas
  • Use things such as text, mus font and colour, video, music or pictures to make my DLO more interesting for my viewers
  • Try connect with my viewers by using rhetorical questioning and ‘wow’ words

Friday 10th of February Tautoro School went on a trip to the Waitangi Treaty Grounds.

The five places we visited were:
1. The Flagpole
2.The Waka
3.The Marae
4. The Treaty House
5.Museum

Some interesting things that I learnt were
The Treaty house was built in 1940, They even had 40 paddlers on the waka.
The three flags were the NZ flag, England flag and the Scottish flag. The treaty of waitangi was first signed on February 6th 1840. The treaty was an agreement between Maori and British. The treaty was written in maori and english.

The part of the trip I enjoyed the most was
the museum because it gave us heaps of information about what happened between the maori and the english and who signed the treaty.
